Are you ready to unleash your creativity while mastering essential life skills? Join us for our innovative Sewing and Home Economics class at Bass Clef School of Music & Fine Arts! This class is designed to introduce students to the art of sewing and provide a comprehensive understanding of essential home economics concepts.
Students will embark on an exciting journey of discovery, exploring the world of fabrics, garments, and everyday household skills. This hands-on course teaches kiddos and teens to sew like a pro and acquire valuable life skills along the way!
Course Highlights
1. Introduction to Sewing: Step into the world of sewing with confidence! Start with the basics of sewing, including handling a sewing machine, stitching techniques, and utilizing essential tools. Students will create simple yet practical items such as tote bags, pillows, pin cushions, and aprons.
2. Garment Construction: Take your sewing skills to the next level by delving into the art of garment construction. From reading and understanding patterns to fabric selection and fitting techniques, this section equips students with the knowledge needed to create stunning clothing pieces. Students will construct pants, dresses, and even pajama sets to showcase their newfound skills!
3. Home Economics Essentials: Expand your knowledge beyond sewing as we delve into the world of home economics. This class also covers fundamental skills for the home. Units include creative home décor, repairs, and alterations.

When: Tuesdays 2:30-4:15pm
Where: 525 Central Ave. Times Square,GF Main Level
Who: Ages 7-15 ; Open to all skill levels, from beginners to those with prior sewing experience.
Materials: Basic materials included (additional materials may be required to be purchased by students for special projects)
